Music magazine research

I know little about music magazines so I had decided to research on them. Upon researching them, I have discovered a few things about them. Music magazines consist of interveiws of various artists, photo shoots and competitions with excellent prizes to be won. In addition to this, there may also have concert reviews and recod reviews too. All magazines want to capture a specific target audience and this is portrayed in the design, layout and content of the magazine. The front cover is also a main factor in identifying the target audience. Moreover, the genre the magazine looks at also contributes in identifying the target audience. For example (a typical example), the RWD magazine on the right looks at mostly hip hop and grime, which would appeal to young men who are cool and have a good sense of style. In this way every magazine is aimed at one 'group' of people.

Today's magazines contain very high quality pictures which are altered on a software on a computer. These images have been altered to look more attractive and less dull, so that they stand out as it has now become even more difficult to please readers. Below are some more magazines I had looked at to gain information and an issue of the source above. I am now going to buy a music magazine which I would be interested in and will analyse it. This will add to my research.
